Union Chapel

Customer specification

This chapel situated in Combe Down had to install a new boiler due to their old boiler of 40 years finally failing.

This gave the chapel the opportunity to not only install a much more efficient boiler but to also electronically control different zones in the building. Due to the multifunctional use of the chapel the zones are used at different times.

RJ Mitchell & Son Proposal

We fitted a Vaillant Ecotec plus 438 condensing open vented boiler and installed 3 motorised valves linked to Drayton RF room thermostats. This will give greater control over the individual zones all controlled by a Horstmann 4 channel programmer. All the zones can have independent timed periods again giving high levels of control to ensure zones are only heated when needed with little human input. We see this helping to reduce the gas consumption on the property. We also fitted a Grundfos Magna pump which modulates to the demand of the system automatically which will also minimise energy consumption.
